SLAM map save/load


I would like to be able to save a SLAM map and load it some time later so I don’t have to re-explore an area I have already explored. I understand that there is a way to save a point cloud but nothing to load it and start slamming in it.

Do you think there is a way to do it with stock SLAM or do I have to modify the slam node extensively or use a completely different SLAM like rtabmap?
