Cannot fly a bebop2 in cloverleaf_flyover world

Product: [Bebop/Bebop2]
Product version: [X.X.X]
SDK version: [X.X.X]
Use of libARController: [YES/NO] (Only for ARSDK)
SDK platform: [iOS/Android/Unix/Python…]
Reproductible with the official app: [YES/NO/Not tried]

I recently renewed my parrot-sphinx simulator installing version 1.8 (I was still using 0.23) running under Ubuntu 18.04 (I was using 16.04). My hardware is a MacbookPro + a compatible WiFi usb dongle. Wifi interface name is also fixed at wlan0.
The installation runs fine. I use the outdoor_2.world and can connect to and fly a Bebop2 using my skycontroller 2 (or with Freeflight on my iphone).

If I try and use the cloverleaf_flyover.world I cannot connect to my bebop2, neither with my skycontroller nor with the iphone running Freeflight.
I can see the wifi access-point generated by the simulator using the iphone, I can connect to the AP with no problems, but Freeflight will not activate any connection at all.

Can anybody give me any hints on how to solve the problem?
