Sphinx on VirtualBox?

Hello,
anyone tried Sphinx installation under Ubuntu 16 virtual machine ?
All seems to be good but there are some problems with wifi connection (usb dongle)
Thanks - Francesco

Hello

Sphinx should work under an Ubuntu 16.04 virtual machine. I just expect you to have some real time or video streaming issues but the wifi connection should be fine?

What kind of problems ?
What is the reference of your wifi dongle ? Please check your dongle reference against the system requirements.
Which version of VirtualBox are you using ?
Have you enabled the USB Controller (Machine settings -> USB -> Enable USB Controller) and selected your usb device under the “USB Device Filters” area ?

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

really thanks for your time. Apparently all requisites were satisfied. The dongle (D-Link DWA-125 Wireless N 150 ) supports AP and is enabled in VirtualBox.

VB version is 5.1.26 (i think the latest) and O.S. is Ubuntu 16.04.01 64 bit.
The problem is that the simulation started correctly but, for some reasons, It did’nt create the fd_veth0 interface.

I can’t reproduce now the problem and give more informations or messages because i have an unexpected problem at the Gazebo startup… il try to make again the installation from the beginning in the next days:
