Disable GPS with SDK?

I want to use a drone to check winds. With DJI Phantom I could disable GPS position hold and drone would drift away.

I’ve read that it’s possible to use aluminium sheet to completely block GPS signal, but then I won’t be able to read out GPS positions and actually check wind direction and speed.

I was searching for the option in SDK, but couldn’t find anything. Is this possible?

Unfortunately, no you can’t disable the GPS through the SDK.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to use a drone rather than a weather balloon?
What is your use case?
