Do we need GPS on phone?

If when flying with the Sky Controller 2 with phone,
is there any real reason to keep phone GPS activated on
the phone? The anafi will RTH on disconnect by the GPS
onboard which it uses correct?

The manual says that follow me may use phone GPS but can’t see why it would need to be on otherwise.

Hi @anafifan,

The Sky controller does not have a GPS module. Freeflight and the drone use the phone’s GPS for several functions, for example follow me or Return To Pilot. You should be able to disable GPS authorisation in the settings, so you should normally be able to use the drone.

However, we advise you not to do this, as the drone’s nominal operation is with the phone’s GPS activated. Some functions may no longer work without the phone’s GPS.
