In groundsdk media API i cannot find any way to relate a given media file to a flight session. Am i missing something or do i need to read the FDR and correlate flight data with media creation date?

You are right, there is no special API for this.
I suggest using the picture metadata to sort them post flights.
is there any special tag i should be looking for, or do you mean just looking at the creation date for simple ordering?
Edit: I guess the “Run Date” and “Run Id” are what you mean. From my analysis they provide a common reference across different pictures and even Videos. Let me know if this is what you mean.
