RTMP streaming and telemetry

In FreeFlight 8 you can turn on stream sharing and the controller sends the video to an RTMP server. Does the RTMP stream contain telemetry analogous to the RTSP feed available via ethernet from Skycontroller? RTMP contains FLV video instead of RTP packets, so I guess the telemetry would be as AMF messages instead of RTP header extensions?

Hello,

The primary purpose of stream sharing is to broadcast content to platforms such as YouTube, Wowza, or similar streaming servers. As these platforms are not able to process Parrot metadata, telemetry is not supported in stream sharing.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

Thank you for your answer.

Is it then true that the only way to stream the video and telemetry while flying the drone with FreeFlight 8 is using the RTSP server that is available from the ethernet connection on Skycontroller? I understand that the ATAK UAS Tool is also supported, but I guess that cannot be used at the same time as FreeFlight 8?

Hello,

Using the RTSP feed from the skycontroller is the only way for now.

We are also working on supporting RTSP ingest to a server for stream sharing in addition to RTMP in FreeFlight8. This will likely be available later in 2026.

ATAK UAS Tool cannot be used at the same time as FreeFlight8 for piloting, indeed.

Thank you for the additional information.

I hope that the RTSP stream support arrives soon and includes the telemetry.
