Safety Pilot - Wifi Control and Manual Override

We are exploring using wifi commands to control the ANAFI AI and pass it missions.

From my experience with other drones we would have a safety pilot with the controller ready to take over in the case a drone flying automatically in a mission controlled through telemetry was doing something undesired.

Is there a way to account for a safety pilot that is generally followed when using wifi controls?

It seems that it is one or the other, if you are controlling the drone with WiFi, you have to have the drone disconnected from the controller and tablet, and you must reconnect with the drone to take command which likely would take too long to be useful. I figure I am missing something.
