It seems sdk version 1.8 is not supporting Anafai AI, since the controller is not recognized as valid usb accessory.
Which version of ground sdk should I use?
I am running the Hello drone app from the git code sample.

you need to use the 7.0.0 Ground SDK.
The pods and AAR are published, the documentation will be updated this week!
