Sphinx Crashing with wifi_iface=auto : Received an error from firmwared:This operation is not permitted from the current state

Hi all,

I want to use Sphinx simulator on the PC and Freeflight app on the Android phone. I set up the hotspot from the PC, using the wifi adapter in AP mode, and I’ve connected the Android phone on the wifi network created from the PC, using Ubuntu Network Manager.
But the simulator is crashing when I start the application with: parrot-ue4-empty.
I get the error: Received an error from firmwared:This operation is not permitted from the current state.
If I start the simulation with “wifi_iface=” the simulator is working fine, but I dont get the connection other wifi to the Android app Freeflight.

Please help me with that.

Can you send us extra ulog logs from firmwared when that error happens? The procedure to display ulog logs is described here: Troubleshooting - 2.12.2

You still seem to have the issue with libstdc++.so.6.0.* not found in your system. Can you confirm that libstdc++ can be found at this location: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ ?

It’s not clear to me what is happening here. Can you please send us extra ulog logs from firmwared by doing this:

Here is the output with extra ulog logs, note that now I attached the whole output, not just the logs which appeared after starting the Sphinx simulator.

I am creating the wifi hotspot using ubuntu network manager, using this command:

nmcli d wifi hotspot ifname wlxd0374502ee0d ssid dronewifi password wifi123456

But in Sphinx tutorials was written something about hostapd, but I couldnt find any instructions on how to do it with hostapd. Do you think this might be an issue?

You must not create a wifi hotspot. sphinx just needs an available wifi interface and takes care of everything. If your wifi device is not supported, which may be the case here, we recommend using a drone instead: Wi-Fi setup - 2.12.2

I turned off the wifi hotspot and restarted PC, but I get the same issue, also please check the screenshots, there is AP mode listed as supported by my wifi adapter.


Even if AP is listed, it may not work with Sphinx. The issue can be seen here:
